Saturday 24th October 2009: Charity Concert with Fire Choir

With special guests the Fire Choir from Hereford, we presented a concert of world music on the evening of October 24th in honour of United Nations Day. We raised about £600 for the British Heart Foundation Herefordshire Heartbeat Appeal and the Alzheimers Society; these were the charities being supported by the Mayor of Ledbury, the late Chris Holbourne, during his year in office.

Friday 4th December: Downs School, Colwall

The Colwall Community Choir invited us to take part with them in a Christmas Concert hosted by the Downs School. Three choirs of children from the school also took part. This was the first time we had sung with the CCC, and we hope that it will be the beginning of a strong relationship.

Saturday 12th December 2009: Christmas Concert

The choir's Christmas Concert was held at the Market Theatre on Saturday 12th December. Peter Carter of the John Masefield Society was our MC, and as well as linking the carols with fascinating facts about them, he also gave a selection of readings of seasonal poetry. Taking account of ticket sales, a raffle, and a bucket collection, we made around £1000 for Cancer Research.

Wednesday 19th May 2010: Fire Choir - Return Fixture

We got together with the Fire Choir again on 19th May for a concert in Hereford at St Francis Xaviers Church on Broad St. We raised around £200 for the Noah's Ark Trust, a local charity that supports bereaved children.

Tuesday 6th July 2010: Poetry Festival Concert

The choir gave a concert on Tuesday July 6th in association with the Ledbury Poetry Festival. All the songs were musical setting of poems of different types They inclcuded settings by two local composers: 5 poems by the Dymock Poets from Bob May's cycle "Under an English Heaven", and two songs from the 2008 "The Wanderer" cycle of John Masefield settings by John Frith. The programme was introduced and linked by Peter Carter of Ledbury Poetry Festival and the John Masefield Society, and was sponsored buy the "Friends of the Dymock Poets".

Saturday 16th October 2010: Methodism in Ledbury Anniversary

The choir will be giving a concert in October in the Methodist Church in The Homend as part of the 175^th anniversary of Methodism in Ledbury.
